Improving the Efficiency of the Electric Locomotive Drive with a Controllable Converter for Traction Motor Excitation

Purpose: To substantiate the circuit design and algorithms for individual smooth automatic control of single-phase direct current electric locomotives according to laws constant traction force power without breaking locomotive circuits in order increase efficiency its drive with controllable motor excitation converters. As a solution, it is proposed apply electrical two rectifier-inverter converters each section bogie-based control, as well individually controlled bridge transistor converters, shunting field windings, axial within bogie. Methods: The development solutions using modern semiconductor converters; theory finite state machines; mathematical modeling electromagnetic, electromechanical mechanical processes. Results: developed provide possibility obtaining characteristics an that vary constancy or power, bringing collector motors asynchronous motors. calculations performed confirmed implementing algorithm currents their currents, forces, which ensures locomotive.Practical significance: technical applicable manufacture modernization operated will ensure properties singlephase DC contribute throughput carrying capacity railway network.
